Tell LePage Exactly What You Think!

 maine_greens_banner.jpg

Paul LePage will be hosting a public forum to hear from the people of Maine on his tax policy.

We should seize this opportunity to let him know exactly what we think!

LePage's new tax plan is the same horrible tax plan that the Maine Democrats tried to push through back in 2009!

They want to cut taxes on the rich, raise taxes on the poor through a sales tax, and then claim that it's all fair because if you make under a certain amount, you get some of it back at the end of the year.

What this is doing, is shifting the tax burden on to low-income people!

We need a progressive tax policy! Tax the rich!

I changed my mind, I am going, to demand he gives food stamps back to the 6,000 childless Maine people! And stop trying to steal the River rights from the Penobscots!! And to not only not stop GA to the Asylum seekers, but not take the money from the Cities that refuse to do so! Love, jacqui

Who has a car that is going to this? Portland Board of Education member John Eder is going to be doing a press conference about how the LePage budget and tax plan affects our school system, low-income people's lives, and sharing his experience as an elected official in municipal government and how this will affect our local governments and their ability to govern. But John needs a ride!

This Town Hall Meeting is going to be used to sell his cuts to GA, and increased barriers to social services as being a positive. He's going to blame it all on local governments, and tout a loss of $300 million in revenue as being "money we can take home in our pockets" when it's really food taken out of people's mouths.

How many opportunities do you get to tell LePage exactly what you think of his policies to his face?

I wonder what would happen if we drug tested Paul LePage, who is also pushing for drug testing of food stamp recipients?
