Here are our policies:
- We protect the confidentiality of any personal information you share with us, unless we are required to report it by federal or state election laws.
- Our website and email campaigns include methods to contact officials through such efforts as petitions and letters-to-the-editor. These actions may relate directly to congressional constituencies and the ability of representatives to hear and to communicate with members of their districts. To this end, we collect names and mailing addresses from users who choose to post directly on action pages we provide for users.
- The Maine Green Independent Party collects two types of information about users: optional and/or voluntary information that users provide; and their direct participation in activities such as petitions, letters-to-the editors, and donations.
- All other individual traffic behavior on our website is NOT recorded.
On the confidentiality of recipients who receive emails through our tell-a-friend feature:
- We will NOT collect personally identifying information which our users divulge about other people, such as the information provided in our tell-a-friend feature. The tell-a-friend feature is provided solely for the purpose of assisting visitors who choose to help spread the word about the Maine Green Independent Party.
Your Privacy:
- We DO NOT share your personal information with other organizations UNLESS you explicitly grant us permission to do so.
- Online donors may choose whether or not to have their name and address shared with other advocacy organizations at the time of their donation, or at any time thereafter.
- You may change the status of whether you wish to receive Green Party communications at any time.
Protecting Your Information:
- Our Web site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of the information under our control. Our servers are located in a locked, secure environment.
- The Maine Green Independent Party will not share your information with any third-party organization without your explicit permission to do so. Personal information you provide is stored in a secure location and is accessible only by designated staff.
- We will collect and use information through our Web site only in the ways disclosed in this statement.
Cookies:
- A "cookie" is a small file assigning you a unique ID that is placed on your computer by a web server. Some features of the Maine Green Independent Party website may use cookies, such as "action centers," in order to identify the action taker and make it easier to use the website feature.
Modifying Donor Information:
- To protect your privacy as a donor, we do not provide a means to update your information online. If you need to correct the information you have provided us, please send an email to the Maine Green Party.
