Daniel Stromgren for House 54 - Topsham

As a father, homeowner, former small business manager and clinical social worker, I understand the needs of Mainers.

Instead of “reaching across the aisle” we can create a new aisle. My loyalties aren’t to any special interests but to you; the Party of Maine. Call me at 751-7475 to discuss what we can do together to effect real change in politics. With your vote I will go to Augusta and be a strong independent voice for Topsham.

He attended high school at North Yarmouth Academy pursuing his interests in politics, history and science. Dan spent one year at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania before returning to Maine and attending the University of Maine at Orono where he was introduced to Green Politics, working on Green Party candidate Jonathan Carter's 1994 Gubernatorial campaign, ran for Student Government President and served as a student Senator. He also became heavily involved in local environmental politics working with the Mount Blue State Park coalition to stop logging in Maine's park lands. He also worked as an adoption right's advocate. Dan graduated in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education.
Following his time in Orono, Dan moved to Portland, Maine where he worked for several small businesses and as a legal researcher for an industry leader. While there he grew his division of the company and quadrupled its revenue in just three short years. In 2001 Dan returned to Topsham where he met his wife Carin Merrill Stromgren with whom he has a 2 and a half year old son. Dan, feeling a pull towards his Green values and sense of social justice left the business community to obtain his Master of Social Work Degree in 2010 and currently works as a clinical social worker serving the people of mid-coast Maine.
Dan ran in 2013 during the special election, for State Senate.  He is running again in Topsham as a candidate for State Representative, and we're excited to have him back on the ballot!
His top priorities as a candidate for State Representative are Sustainable Economic Development, Education, and Healthcare.
