2015 MGIP Winter Assembly

Hello Fellow Greens,

Our 2015 Winter Assembly will be held December 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m at the Curtis Library, 23 Pleasant St. in Brunswick.

Please like and share our Facebook event for this assembly!

We will be voting on party goals (see below). We will also be discussing our platform and possible amendments to be voted on at the annual convention next spring. We will also have elections for state committee and international committee members, to fill openings. They will serve until our convention next year.

The Winter Assembly will be free, but donations are welcome. Lunch is pot luck, so please bring an appetizer, salad, bread or dessert. Also, we would like to do the Green thing and ask that you please bring a place setting. We will provide drinks and cups.

At the Assembly, we will be having breakout groups to discuss goals:

1) Recruit and assist getting a gubernatorial candidate for 2018.
2) Hire a paid part-time press officer and/or an administrative assistant to help with day-to-day functions.
3) Identify municipalities that are ripe for building local committees and running local candidates.
4) Building coalitions to advance MGIP issues.
5) Other Goals.

Schedule (subject to change):

9-9:30AM, Arrival.
9:30-9:45AM, Opening Remarks and Election of Assembly Officers.
9:45-11AM, Platform Discussion.
11AM-12PM, Elections of SC/IC and Discussion of Caucuses/LRAC/2015 Elections.

We are headed into a presidential election year in 2016 and we want to go into it with a strong sense of who we are and what we want to do. It takes many folks to do this work and we hope you will find time to come share your thoughts and ideas with us for growing the party.
